Get to know your Miss Teen Universe SA semi finalist

Mzilwa believes that being a title holder for the Miss Teen Universe South Africa will pave a way for her to inspire young girls to believe in themselves.

An 18-year-old Mihlali Mzilwa from Mofolo North has made it to Miss Teen Universe South Africa Semi Finalist.

The influential model started her modelling journey in 2019 when she was part of Ace Models Soweto Agency and made it to the Top 12 for Miss Teen Soweto. This is when her passion for modelling grew even more and encouraged her to do more and become a better version of herself.

Mzilwa believes that being a title holder for the Miss Teen Universe South Africa will pave a way for her to inspire young girls to believe in themselves.

She wants young girls to look at her and see a reflection of themselves. A reflection that will prove to them that they are beautiful, confident, unique and capable of doing anything that they set their minds to.

“I want them to know that the reward is always in the journey and not the destination. I’m one person who’s been mocked by society for different reasons. I’d like to emphasise that they shouldn’t wait for validation from society because they are enough regardless of what they go through,” she explained.

“This title will also help me grow my pageant and also my campaign of visiting orphanages to donate because a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle,” she further explained.

When auditioning for this beauty pageant, Mzilwa didn’t think she would make it this far as the competition was tough. She believes that it is only through the grace of the Lord that she has made it this far.

“Being amongst the semi-finalists means a lot to me, it is one of the greatest achievements and the first step to achieving my Mihlali Mzilwa Entertainment dreams and making a difference in someone’s life. I’ve always dreamt of making an impact in people’s lives and by that I also started a pageant called the Miss Teen Elegance,” she added.

Should the contestant make it to the finals and be announced a winner of The Miss Teen Universe South Africa , she will walk away with: gift prizes, cash prize, bursary from Creative Minds and will be representing South Africa in Miss Teen Universe for the year 2022.

Mihlali Mzilwa hopes for a greener pasture in her modelling career.
