According to The Communications Officer for Diepkloof SAPS, Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto, police responded to a call on Thursday night last week to a house in Phumzile Street, Zone 5, where upon arrival they found three unresponsive bodies in the house.

“When police officials arrived at the scene, they found that the husband has stabbed and killed the wife and two daughters, aged four and six. The third daughter was also stabbed but is still in hospital,” she said. “The wife aged 29 was stabbed three times on the left shoulder and once on the stomach while, the two children were stabbed on the upper body.”

The 64 year-old suspect who tried to commit suicide was apprehended and taken to the Chris Baragwaneth Hospital where he is receiving treatment for the injuries sustained in attempted suicide.

Police say the suspect is under police custody and have assigned detectives who are busy with investigations.
