You will need
- pebbles
- two shades of green
- acrylic paint
- paintbrushes
- newspaper
- white marker
- soil
- gravel
- pots
- old bowl
To make
- Select the pebbles with the most cactus-like shape – generally these are a bit oblong, some are quite cylindrical. Wash these pebbles.
- Lay out the newspaper to protect your surface and with the paintbrushes, an
old bowl for the dirty water, and your acrylics, paint the top surface of your
pebbles. Allow to dry before turning over and painting the other side. They
may need several coats. - Once completely dry, use your white marker to draw dots, stars and spikes
on your cactuses. A combination of patterns and sizes makes them look
more realistic. - Fill your pots with soil, ‘plant’ your cactus pebbles and cover the soil with gravel.
