SATURDAY, 11 NOVEMBER: Diabetes may be the second highest cause of death in South Africa after tuberculosis but people are still in denial. The Durban Wellness Festival takes place at the Durban Amphitheatre at the Bay of Plenty, with registration open at 10am. The festival officially kicks off at 2pm with the 5km walk and run starting at 4pm. The entire event ends at 6pm with lucky draw spot prizes. The 5km walk or run costs just R60 per person, with all proceeds going to Diabetes SA Durban. The wellness expo is free to the public. FRIDAY, 1 DECEMBER: Christmas market and food fair at Montclair Methodist Church, 82 Montclair Road.Take-away suppers, or sit-down-and-eat, will be available from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Go and collect a take-away, and browse through the rest. Off-road parking available.
