Celebrate and have a little magical fun.
LEARN some magic and celebrate Smoke and Mirrors Day today, 29 March.
In some countries 29 March is Smoke and Mirrors Day – a celebration of magic and illusions.
Like many English words, ‘magic’ comes from a Greek word ‘mageia’.
For all the Harry Potter fans out there, it is a day to pretend magic really exists and live like a student of Hogwarts.
Why not celebrate the day by learning a magic trick?

Books:
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis:
A classic children’s book about four siblings who travel to a secret world called Narnia through a magic wardrobe. This fantasy about magic features a collection of interesting and unusual creatures.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling:
The eponymous first Harry Potter follows Harry as he learns about being a magician and the legacy of the scar on his head.
The Magicians by Lev Grossman:
This is one for adults. It tells the story of Quentin Coldwater who enters the world of magic at a hidden college in New York called Brakebills. It features mature content and even takes on issues of mental disorders.

Set in the early 1900s, this PG 13 mystery is movie about two magicians embroiled in a rivalry which may or may not revolve around a murder.
Now You See Me:
Follow a group of illusionists who lead the FBI on a chase after stealing money from a wealthy man and donating it to the crowd during a live show.
Practical Magic:
Sisters, Sally and Gillian are witches who have to hide their magic from the world for fear of persecution. Watch as they learn to overcome a curse on the family that kills off the men they fall in love with.
