THURSDAY, 26 MAY: Fynnlands Senior Primary School hosts a food evening from 5pm to 8pm. Give your mom the night off and go and buy supper.

FRIDAY, 27 MAY: 100 Club draw at Fynnlands Sports Club between 5pm and 7pm. DJ Fester will provide music and braais will be available. Free entry for members but they must be present to win.

SATURDAY, 28 MAY: 69ers Motorcycle Club hosts its annual Bible run from 2pm to late at the Dutch Club, 111 Bluff Road. Cost is R50, which includes a cloth badge. Biker games and fun for the whole family, prizes and trophies for biggest club, best bikes and game champions. Prize-giving will be held at 6pm. There will be a potjie competition hosted by Macs which costs R100 per team of four people. For details about the potjie, call Riaan on 084-588-5153. SATURDAY, 28 MAY: Dutch Reformed Church Fynnlands hosts a fête and craft market from 8am until noon at the church hall, 303 Lighthouse Road, Bluff. Breakfast starts at 8am. The usual pancakes, puddings, vetkoek, home baked cakes/breads and handmade crafts will be for sale.

THURSDAY, 2 JUNE: Fynnland Sports Club hosts its indoor night market from 6pm to 9pm. It promises to be a fun-filled evening with karaoke, sporting facilities, braai fires and more. Tables are free so call Carol on 031-466-2010 to book a table but space is limited, so book early.

SATURDAY, 4 JUNE: Curves Bluff hosts a blood drive from 9am to noon, which is open to the public. SANBS provides the following details about blood distributed: 27% for general medical treatment (to cancer or anaemic patients for example); 26% for childbirth and gynaecological purposes; 21% for scheduled operations; 10% for paediatric cases; 6% for research and 4% for trauma. A blood transfusion takes place every 30 seconds, hence SANBS desperately needs people to take the time to donate. For more information about the blood drive, call Curves on 031-466-1174.

THURSDAY, 9 JUNE: The KwaZulu-Natal Branch of the South African Military History Society meets at 7pm to 7.30pm at the Murray lecture theatre, Department of Civil Engineering, University of KwaZulu-Natal Howard College campus. There will be two talks and the topics will be ‘The Emden’ by Rob Crawley and ‘General CCJ Badenhorst in the Western Free State during the guerrilla stage of the Anglo-Boer War’ by Dr Arnold van Dyk.Visitors are welcome to attend. SATURDAY, 11 JUNE: Non-profit organisation, Headway-Natal, which offers support to acquired brain injured and stroke survivors and their families, hosts a craft and charity shop sale at 11 Menston Road, Westville from 9am to 1pm. A variety of mosaics, beadwork, sewing, pottery items and similar – all hand-made by the members – will be on sale. The charity shop will be open to offer a wide selection of bargains for purchase. MONDAY, 27 JUNE to FRIDAY, 1 JULY: Children in the Montclair, Woodlands, Yellowwood Park areas are invited to join holiday Bible school at Crossroads Community of Christ Church in the Montclair recreational hall, Wood Road, from 9am to 12.30am daily.
