FRIDAY, 1 APRIL: Fundraising dance in aid of Wentworth Angels takes place at 47th Avenue Nite Club in Springfield Park, themed ‘memory lane and nostalgia’ from 9pm until 6am. Patrons will be entertained by DJ Preggie, Dr Alan and the legendary DJ Trevor Williams. Free cocktails for the first 100 people, as well as prizes to be won throughout the night. THURSDAY, 7 APRIL: Fynnlands Combined Sports Club hosts an indoor night craft market from 6pm to 9pm. It promises to be a fun-filled evening with karaoke, sporting activities and more. Call Carol on 031-466-2010 for bookings. Stall fees for crafters are R50 and own equipment is required. Limited space is available, so book early.

THURSDAY, 14 APRIL: The KwaZulu-Natal branch of the South African Military History Society meets at 7pm for 7.30pm at the Murray Lecture Theatre, Department of Civil Engineering, University of KwaZulu-Natal Howard College campus. There will be two talks and the topics are ‘From mirror shined boots to the spirit of the bayonet’, presented by John Goodrich and ‘Iron Fist from the Sea’, presented by Lt Col Douw Steyn. SATURDAY, 26 APRIL: Annual senior citizens tea party at Grosvenor Girls High School from 10am. All senior citizens over the age of 65 years are invited to attend. Contact the school on 031-467-3614 before 18 April and speak to Mrs Offer to book a place. Note that the school will be closed from 18 March until 4 April.
