WEDNESDAY, 17 FEBRUARY: Birdlife Port Natal outing to Jubilee Park Westville at 7.30am a chance to see the magpie mannikins. Take picnic baskets and chairs. Call Sandi 031-701-4839.

THURSDAY, 18 FEBRUARY: The Friendship Club holds its second meeting of the year, but for this one occasion, the venue is the Wentworth Bowling Club owing to renovations at their usual venue. The meeting starts at the usual time. The guild looks forward to seeing all members.

SATURDAY, 20 FEBRUARY: Birdlife Port Natal AGM at the Palmiet Nature Reserve in Westville at 2pm. The talk will be by Mark Brown on ‘cities, beaches and birds – striving for co-existence’. There will be a bring and braai afterwards. Call Lesley on 083-231-3408.

SATURDAY, 20 FEBRUARY: South African Writers’ Circle monthly meeting at Westville library’s room G2 at 11am. This is the AGM, followed by a talk by Rob Opie entitled ‘The game changers – good to great to greater.’ There will be a cocktail party afterwards. Non-members are welcome. FRIDAY, 4 MARCH: Join in the gathering for the 86th year of Women’s World Day of Prayer at St Barnabas Anglican Church, 936 Bluff Road. The service will be followed by sandwiches, cake and refreshments. The service starts at 10am and the public is urged to enjoy wonderful fellowship with other Bluff churches. THURSDAY, 10 MARCH: KZN branch of the SA Military History Society meets at 7pm for 7.30pm at the Murray Lecture Theatre, Department of Civil Engineering, University of KZN Howard College campus.
