Gauteng author to speak at Mooihawens fundraiser

Bookings are essential.

Relationship expert and author, Gretha Wiid of Gauteng is the guest speaker at a fundraising function to support the Mooihawens dementia and Alzheimer’s disease care centre. The event takes place at Sweetwaters church in Sanders Road on Saturday, 14 November from 9am.

Doors open at 8.30am. “Gretha is well known in the Afrikaans-speaking community and this will be her first visit to Durban and the South Coast,” said organiser, Marina van Aswegen. “We will present a morning of socialising, with snacks and presents for the women.

Funds raised from this event will go towards new beds, a panic and alert call system for residents, a generator for load shedding and the general upkeep of the dementia and Alzheimer’s disease care centre.

The function will be in Afrikaans, but anybody who is comfortable with Afrikaans is more than welcome.

The topic of the morning is ‘A woman close to God’s heart’, something that will touch every woman present and Gretha has an unique way of expressing how it is to be a woman and a mother. Gretha is a Christian and will share from that point of view, heart to heart.”

It will consist of a 90-minute talk, with a break and the venue is wheelchair friendly.

Gretha is a sought-after speaker in the country. For the past seven years she has presented the Worthy Women Conference in Moreleta Park and each year 7,000 tickets are sold for the event, three months before the time.

Bookings are essential. Tickets cost R200 per person and are available at www.itickets.co.za. For more information, email Marina at marina.vanaswegen@skytec.co.za.
