Inter-house Athletics: Farewell House runs away with victory

It was ready, set, go as Fynnland Primary School learners enjoyed their thrilling Inter-House Athletics Day.

FYNNLAND Primary School learners took to the track in a morning filled with thrilling races at the school’s inter-house athletics day on September 14.

Wilma McKenzie, the school’s financial secretary, shared that it was an exciting atmosphere with both learners and spectators in high spirits.

Junior learners, Mbalenhle Nzama, Kaylee Mdima, Andiswa Mkhize and Rahaa Davids, competing in the bucket race.

“The school’s three houses King, Farewell and Fynn, competed with determination in long runs, sprints, hurdles, shot put, high jump, long jump and relays. It was the yellow-clad Farewell house who were crowned this year’s winners,” said McKenzie.

McKenzie expressed the excitement of the spectators and parents as they cheered for their children. “Many parents were also getting into the spirit, even asking about a possible parent race that could be held, adding to the amiable, community-focused feeling of the day,” said McKenzie.

Tenetia Frisken, Chanice Le Cordier, Ntokozo Hlophe and Sameeha Wang attempt the 100m hurdles.

 

Fynnland Primary’s inter-house athletics day once again proved a highlight in the school calendar as it celebrated teamwork and school spirit.
