In the face of seasoned adversaries like Troy Garland and Chris Strover, Gees showcased remarkable composure and accuracy, garnering the admiration of both peers and spectators alike.

Even Strover, the reigning Port Natal Singles Champion, commended Gees as a formidable competitor, acknowledging the intensity of their match. While victory narrowly eluded him, Gees’ stellar performance did not escape the notice of Port Natal selectors, who promptly nominated him as a contender for the upcoming Port Natal Veterans Qualifying Masters.

Gees, originally a fervent golfer, made the transition to bowls in 2019 under the encouragement of his friend, Rob Davies. What began as a casual foray into the development bowls at Wentworth Bowling Club blossomed into a profound passion.

Since officially joining the ranks of registered bowlers in January 2020, Gees’ ascent has been nothing short of remarkable, leaving an indelible impression on the local bowling scene.

As Gees prepares to represent his club on a broader platform, the Wentworth Bowling Club extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for success in the forthcoming Port Natal Veterans Qualifying Masters.
