Montclair karatekas ready for national tourney

The five martial arts enthusiasts have been training extensively for the event and hope to bring home the gold.

FOUR students from Funakoshi Karate International are proud to have been selected to participate in the Full Contact Martial Arts (FMCA) national championships in Germiston from May 18 to 20.

The talented karatekas, Sharise Jones (elite member), and development members, Sbongakonke Sikosana, Zenani Mthembu and Tshiamo January, will be accompanied by their instructor, Sensei Shaun Miln at the championship tournament.

Miln said he was pleased with the progress of his students and was excited that they were given the opportunity to participate.

“We strive to create a culture of discipline along with the teaching karate and self defense skills. I have high hopes that we will make Durban proud at the championships,” added Miln.
