Garland family takes home the title
President of the club, Cheryl Waterman, said the Garland family team bagged a one shot win over their opposition.
IT was triple the competition on the greens when the Garland family competed at the Grace Hare Mixed Trips final competition at the Wentworth Bowling Club.
Mackenzie, together with her grandfather, Simon Garland and her cousin, Troy, participated in the nail-biting two-day competition and scooped the win, making their family and club proud.

“We were provided with great bowling entertainment during the exciting competition and on the second day of the tournament, Simon and Troy, playing the last decider for the season, won the Men’s Nominated Pairs trophy for 2022. We congratulate the Garland family on their excellent achievement. It was indeed a fitting end to a great season of bowls,” said Waterman.
Troy Garland said, “It was amazing game to be a part of the competition. It came down to the last end of the game and we were down by one shot and needed two to win, and we did. We played against very respectful and tough opponents so it was in good spirits all round, but just a pity someone had to come second.”
