Wet weather cancelled twilight bowls friendly at Bluff Bowling Club

Bluff bowlers are eager to contest the next twilight bowls.

BLUFF Bowling Club (BBC) had a good turnout of members and visiting clubs to play twilight bowls, but the rain decided otherwise and the greens were closed before play got underway.

The format of the five-week series is one game of 12 ends per week, two bowl trips of any combination in matching colours.

The first game will be drawn, thereafter ladder system. Contact Russell Fuller on 082 755 2526 to enter your team. Anne won the honour of trying to locate the elusive joker card, but unfortunately failed and she collected R50. The pot has now climbed to R9 686. The attendance draw was won by Jacques Geldenhuys, who was not available.

The club’s annual men’s nominated fours competition will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 5 and 6. There are still a few places available. Contact the club’s vice-president, Clint Duncan on 084 307 7372 to enter your team of four bowlers.

The club hosts the Wolf Electrical pairs competition on Sunday, February 6. Registration is from 08:20 for a 09:00 start, with sponsored prizes to be won. Dudley Dorrofield has been discharged from hospital and the club wish him a speedy recovery on the road to good health.
