Durban hikers set to explore wilderness out west

JOIN Durban Ramblers Hiking Club hikers as they set out to explore the wilderness to the west of Durban this weekend.

On Saturday, 23 June at 1.45pm, hike leader Jon will lead hikers on a trail along the ‘horse country’ trails of the Summerveld Shongweni circuit.

Call Jon on 082-459-1522 about this grade two, easy 8km outing with traverses mainly grasslands. Hiker will enjoy drinks afterwards at the lodge. Meet and park at 1.45pm at Summerveld Lodge (M13 exit 33, left and first right into Cliffdale, left into Hawkstone, right into Summerhill Road).
On Sunday, 24 June, Philip will lead hikers to Mzinyathi Falls in Inanda.

Call Philip on 082-417-0204 about this grade two, moderate hike which carries a vertigo warning.

This 12km hike is a Durban Green Corridor initiative which sees hikers undertake an interesting walk through lower Inanda to the falls, down into the gorge, following a circular return route. There is a R40 cost for the guide.
