ON Saturday afternoon, the Port Natal Bowls men’s league commenced and both the Bluff Bowling Club’s first and second sides hosted Hillary and Gillitts respectively at home.

Unfortunately the first side lost 5-2 but the second side had an excellent result in beating Gillitts 5-0.

On Friday morning, the 3-2-1 was played and Tommy Cloete and Derek Stevens annihilated the field in chalking up a 4+42 to take first prize. First session was won by Graham Bransby and Kurt Spack on a 2+26 while the second session was won by Herbie Hoffmann and Wayne Smith on a 2+22. Wayne also had the most touchers with 10.

June Foster won the meat draw and Terry Michelson won the 50/50 board prize. Corrie and Herbie Roux took home the sportsmen’s prize with an impressive 0-38.

The joker once again couldn’t be found as Janice Rodgers failed to get it to reveal itself and the jackpot now stands at R14,850. The lotto carry-over now stands at R675 while the attendance draw was not won as Robert wasn’t present.

On Sunday the Port Natal trips got underway and the club hosted three of the men’s sections being played. The three section winners were Trevor Philips from Stella, Mark Ramsden from Hillary and Clinton Bisset from Bluff. They have to report to Parkhill this Saturday for the next round.
