Wanderers BC breakfast trips postponed after clash with annual Bluff tourney

WANDERERS Bowling Club held the next rounds of the men’s open singles on Saturday, where Mike Freeman beat Paul White 21-12 in an early start and then in the next round beat Wonki 21-5.

Steve van Rooyen lost 18-21 to Chris Klopper and Errol Pienaar beat Robbie Spiller by the same margin.

Saturday, 24 February sees the start of the Port Natal open and senior singles, good bowling to all those who have entered.

The club men’s nominated pairs has also been carded so put your names down.

Sunday saw the any pairs take place in the blistering heat. Denis Hearnshaw and Aroo took the sportsman’s prize on zero minus a good few. First session went the way of Lofty Cawthorne and new bowler Cave James 2+5. Second session went to Thomas Simpkins and Robbie Carr 2+13.

Second overall went to Wonki and Chantal on a 4+9. Overall winners were Chris Klopper and Robbie Spiller on a 4+15. Next month will see the breakfast trips clash with the annual Bluff tournament, and it will thus be postponed – contact Gary Moffat if you wish to enter a side there. Members are reminded that subs are now due, so make arrangements to settle these.

Friday’s various meat pack winners were: Lamb pack – Justin Reid, beef roast – Jeff Bolt, pork roast – Greggo, rump – Darryl Jacobson, chicken pack – the Lotto Connection, chicken – Darryl Jacobson.

The R600 snowball was won by Chantal Hearnshaw. The Friday Lotto was a carry-over and now sits on R130. Watch this space for details on when the next joker draw will begin.
