The club wishes the team all the best for the national finals where they stand the chance to win R30,000 for Brighton Tennis Club in the process.

A BLUFF-based tennis team prevailed over tough competition to claim the Growthpoint regional tennis club champs, which were held on Saturday and Sunday, 18 and 19 November.

The Brighton Tennis Club side made up of Natalie Grandin, Gary Commins, Karen Blaunfeldt and Carl von Brandis did very well to win the event and become provincial champs.

In the process, they won R10,000 for their club.

Teams from all across KZN converged on Westridge Tennis Stadium to compete in one of 14 regional events which have taken place countrywide.

These will culminate in the nationals final in Johannesburg in February 2018.

With only four players per team representing their club, tennis was of the highest quality. There were two days of men’s doubles, women’s doubles with a mixed doubles per match.

The club wishes the team all the best for the national finals where they stand the chance to win R30,000 for Brighton Tennis Club in the process.

The club will hold its annual mixed doubles tournament on Sunday, 3 December with players from throughout the province converging to compete. Brighton Tennis Club is in search of local sponsors to help with prizes for the day. If anyone is able to help, contact Carl von Brandis on on 060-500-1180.
