Bob, Joanne and Stu win breakfast trips

Session prizes going to Eric Smit, Robin Grobler and Trish O, as well as Dave Gardner, Norren and Neville Roscoe.

LAST Saturday afternoon saw one match in the Wanderers Bowling Club nominated men’s pairs take place, with Richard and Wonke winning a nail-biter by one shot on the 21st end.

After cruising to a 13-2 lead, they eventually limped to a 22-21 win.

Earlier in the day Robin Grobler and Mike Freeman overcame Steve van Rooyen and Thomas Simpkins 19-16 in a closely contested men’s drawn pairs match. Saturday saw Anthony Carr and Thomas Simpkins beat Robin Grobler and Errol Pienaar in the first round of the nominated pairs. Sunday’s breakfast trips fielded 20 teams. The R5 board prizes went the way of Russell Shepherd, Dave Gardner, Paul White and ‘anonymous’.

Sportsman’s prize went the way of Alan Bouwer, Mike Flack and Ronnie Hook.

Session prizes went to Eric Smit, Robin Grobler and Trish O, as well as Dave Gardner, Norren and Neville Roscoe. Second overall went the way of Steve van Rooyen, Graham Funnell and Chris Pozyn on a 4+17, with Stu Proctor, Bob Hayward and Joanne Jordaan winning overall on a 4+26. Well done to them all.

Friday’s various meat pack winners last week were: Lamb pack – Ian Demmer/Porky, beef – Clive and Dianne/Big Ed,

pork roast – Martin van Staden/Porky, rump – Ralph R/Justin, chicken pack – ‘KGB’/Barbara Geddie, chicken – Brian Reid/Porky.

The R800 snowball was a carry over as Sydney Williams was not present.

Friday’s lotto of R1,800 was also a carry over, as was the joker draw as Dianne Swann could not locate the joker. The pool is now in the region of R22,800.

The annual Jacky Bollaert tournament with turkeys among the main prizes will be hosted on Sunday, 10 December, so contact Lofty if you’re interested.
