Bluff BC competitions wind down for 2017

Friday night’s activities are picking up with the Joker draw standing at R6,000 as Allen Ritchie could not find the magic card.

COMPETITIONS are coming to a close at Bluff Bowling Club for the year.

In the last of the women’s competitions Daphne Reinhardt beat Glynis Mackrory in the point singles and in the last rounds of the men’s novice singles, George Nel beat Steve Larkins, Sheldon Wicks also beat Steve and went on to win the final against George Nel.

Sunday saw the Diving Bell any pairs being played. Prizes were won by Noel Morel and Mouse Ratcliffe for the first session, second session went to Jorge Santos and Deon Els, and the overall prize went to Eddie Human and Louise du Plessis.

The raffle was won by Greg Dorrofield, the board by Deon Els.

On Sunday, 3 December instead of the normal pairs, players will compete for the Dave Nel memorial trophy still sponsored by Diving Bell. There are numerous prizes on offer in this trips game, so to enter a side, contact Gary Moffat.

On Tuesday morning the Grand Rapid Spur Acutts any pairs will be played, while Sunday is the Bluff any pairs sponsored by Brian and Dudley. To play in either of these competitions, contact Dudley or be at the club by 8.30am.

Friday night’s activities are picking up with the joker draw on R6,000 as Allen Ritchie could not find the magic card. The attendance draw was won by Grenville Warren who was not present to collect his money, and the lotto was not won so there are a lot of carry overs.

Members are reminded that subs are due and if they are not paid up, they will not be eligible to vote at the AGM in December, so do the right thing and pay subs.
