If you wish to play or enter a team, report to the tabs room by 9.30am for play to start at 10am.

WITH the rugby semi-finals being played, only four bowlers showed up for tabs-in so seven ends were played.

Norman and Linda beat Bill and Raj.

Sunday dawned a lovely, warm day after the cold spell, which ensured a lovely turnout for the shirts and skirts at Woodlands Bowling Club (WBC) with 14 teams.

Norman Moore and Gloria Rice were sitting on the perch so the pressure was on. They won their first game with a good score but unfortunately lost their second game. First overall winners were Jumbo Nel and Derek Stevens who are now on the perch and second overall were Linda Hewer and Gavin Conlon. Second session went to Arnie and Rina Harper. Many thanks to the sponsors CS Solutions.

Tom Simpkin and Jason Hewer won the R40 money board, with Lynn Carlyle and Jumbo Nel snagging the R20. Arnie Harper won the meat raffle.

Members are reminded that their subs are now due.

The main club’s AGM is scheduled for Wednesday, 25 October at 6pm for 6.30pm and members are also reminded that their subs are due.

The main club hosts a fun day on Sunday, 29 October. If you wish to play or enter a team, report to the tabs room by 9.30am for play to start at 10am. Bowls will be supplied to those who don’t have and all bowlers are asked to wear flat shoes. Entry fee is R10 per person and thereafter fires will be lit for a bring and braai.
