THIS weekend saw the semi-finals and finals being played of the Port Natal men’s and women’s pairs sponsored by Durban Wanderers Bowling Club.

Steve van Rooyen and Richard Hendicott represented the club, but unfortunately they lost, claiming joint third prize with Sandy Miller and Colin Best of Durban.

First and second place was contested by two Parkhill sides, with Mo and Alec Morrison claiming first spot and Brad Lezar and Graham Schouten finishing second. The women’s top spot was claimed by Glenda Matthews and her partner Natalie Botha from Stella Park. Second was the Toti team of R Hutton and H Cooper. Joint third spot was shared between Stella Park’s Minette Hatton-Jones and Yvonne Inglis and Hillary women Monique Wells and Linda Didlick. Congratulations to all. Special thanks to those members who assisted with scoring and to vice president Tommy Simpkins for handing out the prizes.

Friday’s various meat pack winners were: Lamb pack Chris Fourie, beef Chris Fourie, pork roast Martin van Staden, rump Lofty, chicken pack Martin van Staden, chicken Ralph.

The R1,400 snowball was a carry over as E Newall was not in attendance. Friday’s lotto of R920 was also a carry-over, and the joker draw was another carry-over as Pat Richard Ant and Terrance could not locate the joker.

The pool is now in the region of R18,000.

Thoughts and prayers are extended to those members on the recovery list, get well soon fellow Wanderers.
