Hiking club celebrates 85th year

On Sunday, 9 July hike the Illovo River trail in Amanzimtoti.

THE 85th anniversary celebrations of Durban Ramblers Hiking Club take place on Saturday, 8 July at Phezulu Safari Park, Old Main Road (just past the Pot and Kettle), Botha’s Hill at noon.

The cost is R80 for members, R150 for non-members.

A buffet lunch will be served so advise Linda should your preference be vegetarian. A bar service will be for attendees’ own cost. Call organiser Linda on 083-353-8319 or email linda@compasshr.co.za.

On Sunday, 9 July Ramblers will hike the Illovo River trail in Amanzimtoti.

Call hike leader Anna Kapp on 071-427-7139. This is a new Sunday hike on fairly flat terrain next to the river and takes in some sugar cane. Members may stay for drinks at the brewery after the hike. Meet at 7.30am at Glenwood Village, 397 Che Guevara (Moore) Road or Illovo Business Park in time to start hiking at 8.15am (directions will be sent nearer the time). Petrol sharing costs R30. This hike of about 18km is graded three.
