Bowlers’ pockets swell at Bluff BC veg derby

There is no league games this weekend the last games are played on Saturday 8 July.

FRIDAY night was the annual vegetable derby at Bluff Bowling Club, and the stands were packed.

At the end of the night there were some happy faces with pockets full of cash while others were not so happy.

Bluff BC thanks all those club members who attended and especially those who took along so many family and friends to make it such a great evening.

Saturday saw the continuation of the men’s and women’s league. The men’s A side beat Stella Park 5-2 which still keeps them in the hunt for promotion. The B side beat Durban 5-0. In the women’s league, A side lost 5-0 to Umhlali and the B side won 5-0 against Hillcrest.

There are no league games this weekend, and the last games are due to be played on Saturday 8 July.

There are women’s club competitions posted for Saturday, 1 July. The starting time is 11am. Nominated pairs Elize Stapelberg and Chrissie Smith against Wendy Fleetwood and Kitty Schaefer, in the drawn pairs Bridget White and Phyllis Maritz against Dawn Spack and Paula Osman, Lilah Nel and Louise Du Plessis against Janice Rodgers and Ronel Morel. The games will be followed by a bring and braai to which all members are invited

On Sunday all bowlers are welcome at the monthly Diving Bell any pairs competition. To enter call Dudley Dorrofield on 072-226-8811.
