Sunday dawned warm with a light breeze for the Woodlands BC fun bowls day.

What a morning it was, with 64 people turning up to play bowls. Many thanks must go to all the sponsors for the prizes and organisers. Thanks to Rob de Wildt for braaiing the boerewors. In first place on the greens were Jason, Bronwyn, Jessica and Chloe Hewer with a 2+20.

Second place winners were Phil Hill, Lynn Carlyle, JP Wessels and Keith Fayers on 2+11, while third were Eileen du Plessis, Penny Jordaan, Kevin and Dawn on 2+9. In fourth was Bill Hewer, Lorraine Jenkins, Garth and Christine Wilkinson on 2+9. Sportman’s prize went to Eric Coetzee, Jackie Coetsee, Kassie and Yvonne Koen on -20. The non bowlers with the most touches on the jack were John Jones, Margaret Hendison and Meagan.

Only Lorraine Jenkins could have won for the noisiest person on the greens. Phil Hill won the money board with Dennis Tarboton snagging the whiskey raffle. Linda Hewer and Phil Hill won the two swindles. Drawn prizes went to skips – Keith Jenkins, Ron and Gary Clark.
