Comrades impacts on YWP golf fourball contest

Thanks to Lynda Montegue for collecting the prizes.

THE Comrades Marathon impacted on Yellowwood Park Club Golf Club’s monthly outing on Sunday, 4 June when they descended on Amanzimtoti Golf Club for their monthly fourball round.

The ultra marathon and other factors beyond the club’s control saw fewer fourballs than usual in attendance, however those who did play enjoyed a good day out under sunny conditions with a bit of wind towards the end of the proceedings. The course was in good condition.

Nearest the pins were seventh – Alan ‘Oil Baron’ Smith, 15th – Clint ‘Grumps’ Rusk, and the 17th – Neville ‘Cray Hunter’ Montegue.

Overall winners were first Neville Montegue with 39 points, second Craig ‘Creepy Crawly’ Sneedon with 34 points, third Kevin ‘Jester’ Lacey with 33 points, fourth Chris ‘Sharkalekker’ Potgieter on 30 points, fifth Alan ‘Oil Baron’ Smith on 30 points (on a count out) and sixth Nigel ‘Pooh Bear’ Lotz on 27 points.

Thanks to Lynda Montegue for collecting the prizes.

The next game will be on Sunday, 2 July, so make a note of the date and join in for a fun-filled day of golf.
