Woodlands BC’s men knocked out as PN senior singles underway

SATURDAY dawned hot and humid as the Port Natal men’s senior singles got underway.

Bill Hewer, Norman Moore, Andy Cloete and Tom Cloete represented Woodlands Bowling Club but unfortunately were all knocked out on the first day.

Sunday was the shirts and skirts breakfast at the club and a good game of bowls was played by all in lovely, cool weather. Second session winners were Arnie and Rina Harper on a count out of 2+4. Second overall winners were Norman Moore and Linda Hewer on 4+9 and the first overall winners and sitting on the ‘perch’ was Terry Brown and Derek Stevens on 4+19. Next month the perch is worth R850.

Rina Harper also walked away with the meat draw, with Robbie Carr snapping up the R40 money board and new bowler Jason Hewer taking the dregs of R20. Wonki and Chantel Hearnshaw grabbed the drawn prizes.

Wednesday, 1 March is the any pairs competition. To enter a team contact Linda Hewer on 082-724-6575 and on Thursday the casual fours breakfast takes place. To enter a team contact Andy Cloete on 083-987-9611.
