EVERY Friday night, Bluff Bowling Club hosts an attendance draw and lotto draw and this week was no exception.

With both draws being carried over the pools grow ever larger, with the attendance draw climbing by R200 every week and the lotto jackpot now sitting at just under the R2,000 mark. Members are encouraged to attend the weekly draws..

The first Port Natal competition of the year started in earnest on Saturday with Durban Bowling Club hosting the men’s novice singles competition, 110 bowlers entered. The BBC had mixed results with Ryan Warren having a bye, Chad Wilson winning through to the next round and Paul Healy being knocked out. This Saturday sees the commencement of the women’s novice singles at the same venue with the BBC being represented by Louise Bredehann and Cheryl Bower.

Sunday saw the BBC host the Bluff pairs competition sponsored by Brian Osman and Dudley Dorrofield. Played out in balmy weather, a large field gathered to enjoy the pleasant conditions. Dave Le Roux and Dion Els were knocked off the perch by Daphne Reinhardt and Glynis Mackrory, while Jumbo Nel and Colin Nichols took the first session prize. Second session was won by Brian and Paula Osman, with overall honours being won by Chris Pozyn and Chad Wilson. The duo now sit on the perch and will take home the R2,000 jackpot prize if they can repeat their performance in next month’s competition. Phyllis Maritz achieved the unique feat of bowling two consecutive wrong biases. Thanks go to Bluff Super Spar for the wonderful hamper prize donation which was won by Noel Morel, while Janice Rodgers won the 50/50 board.
