Handicap singles begins

The club hosted a Halloween Party on Saturday evening, which was enjoyed by many even with the inclement weather.

SATURDAY saw the start of the men’s handicap singles at Wanderers Bowling Club, with Chris Klopper beating Errol Pienaar and Brian Deets victorious over Luke van Rooyen.

The draw is on the board and members are urged to play the first round before lunch time on Saturday, 5 November, as the second round is boarded for Saturday at 1.30pm. Wanderers entered three sides in the Westville Spring tournament and Friday night’s R500 snowball winner, Mike Freeman and his team finished in second place overall. Richard Hendicott and Steve van Rooyen’s sides also picked up a session prize each. Well done to all.

Friday’s various meat pack winners were: Lamb pack – Dan Paruk, beef – May, pork roast – Rob Philogene, rump – Darren H, chicken pack – Jeff Bolt, chicken – Jason Fourie.

The lotto was of R1,000 was won by Des Demmer.

The weekly joker draw was another consolation winner with Trish Overington claiming the consolation prize of R50, and the carry-over is now R5,400.

The club hosted a Halloween party on Saturday evening, which was enjoyed by many, even with the inclement weather. There was some great make-up and costumes to impress, with one of them being Shaun McAllister’s which earned him a sponsored prize for the best dressed. Thanks to all those involved in making it a great evening.
