Hikers head out to Mustang mountain this weekend

This hike is graded two or moderate and covers a distance of about 6km.

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club takes a hike to Silverglen Nature Reserve in Chatsworth on Saturday, 20 August.

Meet at the visitors centre at the Silverglen Nature Reserve. Travel on the N2 south from Durban towards Amanzimtoti. Take the Chatsworth/ Higginson Highway off-ramp and turn right. Travel west on Higginson Highway for about 2km and turn left into Havenside Drive. Turn left again into Silverglen Drive, left into Headland Avenue, keeping right into Mountain View Road. Turn left into Montdene Drive, left into Road 702, and left again into Road 703. Turn left into Lakeview Drive and travel along this road to the reserve entrance.

On Sunday, 21 August, Ramblers will visit Mustang mountain in Hammarsdale. Call hike leader Jenny on 084-952-0622.

The walk starts from Hill ‘n Dale farm (formerly Bartlett Estate) to Hammarsdale. Hikers are to meet at 8am at Union Main Centre, 45 Old Main Road in Pinetown. Petrol sharing costs R30. This hike of about 15km is graded three.
