Quins send Collegians packing

The first team showed how good they can be to beat the more fancied Collegians team 20-13.

IT WAS another epic day on the Bluff on Saturday, when both teams pitched to play rugby for 80 minutes and Quins sent Pietermaritzburg Collegians back to the capital with their tails between their legs.

Both Quins teams displayed the guts and glory of the past to overturn their first round losses.

The seconds cruised through 48-3 and were never in trouble as they blew their opposition away in the first 20 minutes. The team showed their determination by keeping the pressure on in the second half to double their 24-3 halftime lead and keep their knockout hopes alive.

The first team showed how good they can be to beat the more fancied Collegians team 20-13. In what was a very tight game, Quins showed great courage and determination as they fought for 80 minutes. Maritzburg Collegians had their chances but Harlequins never let their guard down and ran out worthy winners.

This week the high-riding Richards Bay team will take the trip down to visit the Mighty Quins on Saturday.
