Both men’s league sides had home games on Saturday. The A side put their heads down and played in the true spirit of the game when they left the green with six of the available seven points against Westville. The B side showed the same determination but were unlucky to lose both their games by narrow margins to Parkhill BC.

Next week’s league is a double header, with games on Saturday and Sunday. Due to this, the Grand Rapids Big Jim pairs has been cancelled for the month. This does not affect the Chicken Shack pairs and the Rawsons breakfast trips that will be played on Wednesday, 29 June and Thursday, 30 June respectively.

Eileen found her form towards the end of the battle and emerged as the victor and the women’s open singles champion for 2016.
