All things water for Ramblers hikers this weekend

This hike across hilly terrain is from Inanda Dam to the falls and back. This is a Green Corridor initiative.

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club takes a hike to Umhlanga Lagoon on Saturday, 25 June.

The outing will include a walk along the promenade to the Umhlanga Lagoon forest and coastal bush, crossing the river along the beach (depending on the tide) and back along the coastal bush. Hikers are to meet at 1.45pm at the car park opposite The Cabanas (10 Lagoon Drive, Umhlanga Rocks). This hike is graded one, easy to moderate and includes beach walking.

On Sunday, 26 June hikers will visit Mzinyati Falls in Inanda. Call hike leader Philip Collyer on 082-417-0204.

This hike across hilly terrain is from Inanda Dam to the falls and back. This is a Green Corridor initiative. Hikers should meet at 8am at Union Main, 45 Old Main Road, Pinetown to drive in convoy to Inanda Dam. Entrance fee is R25, the guard costs R10 and petrol sharing R25. This 8-10km hike is graded three to four.
