DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club members hike in Palmiet Nature Reserve on Saturday, 18 June.

Enjoy a walk through to the top of the reserve with drinks afterwards at Waxy o’ Connors Pub and Grill. Hikers are to meet at 1.45pm at the Palmiet Nature Reserve, off Old New Germany Road.
This 7km hike is graded two, moderate and it carries a vertigo warning.
On Sunday, 19 June hikers will visit Umkomaas’ Empisini Reserve.

Explore the Empisini Nature Reserve and surrounds, and enjoy some beach and road walking. Enjoy a drink on the hotel’s cool deck afterwards and take along costumes for a swim in the pool. Meet at 7.15am at Glenwood Village, 397 Che Guevara (Moore) Road to drive to Blue Ocean Dive Resort, corner Reynolds and Moodie Street, Umkomaas for 8am start. Petrol sharing R30. This 15km hike is graded two.
