D’Moss trail outing for weekend hikers

This hike follows paths from the university into the Msinsi Conservancy, Umbilo Canal and the D'Moss trail.

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club visits Alverstone Nature Reserve on Saturday, 28 May.

This hike takes in grasslands and sees hikers traverse up and down dale, with some game viewing.

Entrance costs R25. After the hike, there will be a braai at the boma. Hikers are to meet at 1.30pm at the Assagay Hotel in Shongweni), and to drive through to Alverstone or meet at the conservancy at 1.45pm. This hike is graded two, moderate.

 

On Sunday, 29 May members will hike the Msinsi D’Moss trail.

This hike follows paths from the university into the Msinsi Conservancy, Umbilo Canal and the D’Moss trail. Take along drinks and gather at Philip’s house in Glenwood after the hike. Meet at 8.30am at the parking above the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre at UKZN, Durban. This grade two hike is about 17km long.
