Harpers claim perch in Woodlands shirts and skirts

Lloyd scooped both prizes on the second money board. Tommy Simpkins won the meat raffle.

ON a lovely cool and overcast Saturday afternoon, the Woodlands Bowling Club the men played a pairs and singles game.

Bill Hewer and Harold Dix played a singles game with Dixie winning 21–15.

In the men’s pairs competition, Andy Cloete and Dennis Holloway played against Norman Moore and Brian Kimber with Andy and Dennis the winners on 23–7.

Sunday dawned also overcast but a little warmer and humid and with a good turnout for the shirts and skirts. Second session winners were Tommy Cloete and Eric Coetzee on 2+17. Second overall winners were Norman Moore and Gloria Rice on 4+18. First overall winners were Arnie and Rina Harper on 4+22 who knocked Norman and Gloria off the ‘perch’ to put themselves on the ‘perch’ for next month. The sportsman’s prize went to Phil Petersen and Val McCaffrey. Arnie Harper won the first money board of R40 and Jeff Bolt got the dregs of R20. David Lloyd scooped both prizes on the second money board. Tommy Simpkins won the meat raffle.
