Prize giving, AGM for Bluff BC this weekend

Sunday morning is the annual general meeting at 10am members are asked to attend as your vote is crucial to the running of the club next year.

BLUFF Bowling Club’s Friday started with the 3-2-1 killer sponsored by June Foster and Eddie Human.

Winners were Eddie Human and Eric Smit, first session was won by Deon Els and Gerald Hoffman, second session went to Bob Hayward and Derick Stevens, while the sportsman’s prize was won by Shawn and Ben.

Most touchers went to Bob Hayward and the boards were won by June Foster and Kurt Spack.

The raffle was won by Kurt Spack. Members think he should just give up bowls and just take raffle tickets. The wine was won by Deon Els.

On Saturday two finals were played. In the mixed trips Eddie Human, Noel Morel and Patricia Buys beat Spider Williams, Ronel Morel and Dawn Spack and in the other game of mixed nominated pairs, Clinton and Sarie Bisset beat Robert Mhlongo and Glynis Mackrory

Unfortunately Sunday’s Acutts any pairs was washed out and the finals of the mixed drawn pairs had to be postponed until Saturday, 12 December at noon.

The club has a busy weekend next weekend, with the prize-giving starting at 4 o’clock and there will be 10 ends of bowls starting at 2pm, before prize giving and a bring and braai thereafter.

Upcoming events include twilight trips starting on Friday, 22 January. The list of entries is filling up quickly. On 18 December, there is candlelight bowls. All bowlers and friends are asked to be there by 6.30pm to start at 7pm. On 20 December it’s the JD Lashrite any pairs starting at 9am.
