Prizes abound in Bluff BC women’s fours tourney

Due to the weather, Bluff BC is not closing its greens until further notice, so the DJ Lashrite and Zutek any pairs are looking for teams.

THE highlight for the Bluff Bowling Club women is the women’s fours tournament.

This tournament is sponsored by Warwick Wealth Management but the co-sponsors shouldn’t be forgotten.

Without them, the club could not run this tournament. They are Hearing Aids Laboratories. Classic Jewellers, and lunches were sponsored by Bluff Meats, Spar and Oxford and Woolworths all on the Bluff, as well as Ranji Procter who sponsored the 13th prize.

The overall prize was won by Glenda Mathews and her team from Durban Bowling Club. Second prize was won by Maree Sadie and her team from Wentworth BC. Third prize was won by Jeanne Alexander from Amanzimtoti. Thirteenth place was won by Daphne Reinhardt on a count out with June Foster.

Sportsman’s prize was won by the ever-popular side of Lea Suter from Hillary. First session was won by Lilah Nel, second session by Claire Murray and third session Margie van Linglen. All players received a prize, thanks to the sponsors.

The watch and the Johnny Walker Black Label was won by Koekie Koekoemoer, with the Red Label going to Gary Moffat and the wine to Celene Taylor.

There was a spider, which was won by Faye Miller, and all money raised went to the Blind Bowlers Association.

The teams for Bo Eliovson Trophy between Bluff and Wentworth have been selected. The challenge takes place on 22 November. If you are selected, tick your name so the club knows you are able to play.
