Fun morning for Montclair seniors

The next Montclair Senior Citizens Club meeting will be on 10 September.

DAVID welcomed members and visitors to the Montclair Senior Citizens Club, with a special mention of Pam from the Bluff pensioners.

The club was sorry to learn that a number of members are ill and wished them a speedy recovery.

It was lovely to see George from the Catholic Church, who came to lead devotions. He was so cheerful and vibrant after a recent heart attack.

The club wished all those with birthdays this month, especially Joey who turns 80. Abbey asked how many would be interested in taking advantage of a lift to the shops on Mondays for a small fee, but only a few responded.

Members were reminded that the Montclair school was having a reunion and everyone was asked to spread the news. Colin and Pam had jokes to share and there were draws for six prizes. After tea, Inspector Jacque Fourie introduced everyone to his sable shepherd, Fancy who is a beautiful sniffer dog trained to detect gun powder particularly from a recently fired gun. She demonstrated her ability and then because she is so gentle, she was allowed to greet everyone and be fussed over. A relaxed, informative morning was had by all.
