YWP golfers soak up nature in Camelot outing

The course was as usual in a beautiful condition and made even more scenic with the abundant amount of bird life inhabiting the course as well as the free roaming buck that are casually grazing around you as you enjoy your golf.

ON Sunday morning, 5 July the Yellowwood Park golfers took to the Camelot Golf Course for their monthly outing.

The format for the day was drawn partners with only four clubs and a putter allowed.

With the first fourball teeing of at 8am in some slightly chilly weather, the banter among the guys was already in full swing with Brian Marten taking flack for choosing to rather play with a full set of clubs.

It wasn’t long before the sun was out and jackets were removed. The course was as usual in a beautiful condition and made even more scenic with the abundant amount of bird life inhabiting it as well as the free roaming buck that casually graze around you as you enjoy your golf.

Results: First Mickey ‘Bok’ Cox and Alan ‘Oil Barron’ Smith on 67 points; second Nigel ‘ballies plumbing’ Lotz and Warren ‘Short Head’ Lester on 60 points; third Neville ‘cray hunter’ Montegue and Robbie ‘One Out’ Marten on 49 points; fourth Kevin ‘Joker’ Lacey and Nic ‘can’t make it’ Field on 44 points. Fifth Clint ‘two ticks and a BF’ Rusk and Dougie ‘Cowboy’ Sinclair on 42 points. Many thanks to Northside Electrical for making the day possible as well as Keryn for assisting with the collecting of the prizes.
