Dismal men’s bowling league outing for Woodlands

The men’s league teams played at Berea, with both teams losing their games.

IT was another busy week at Woodlands Bowling Club where Wednesday’s open pairs competition first session winners were Dennis Gerricke and Jo-Anne Jordaan.

The second session winners were Colleen Blenner-Hassett and Daphne Els and overall winners were Ken Thomas and George Harris.

Eileen du Plessis scooped the R40 money board and Terry Micholson snagged the R20. The meat raffle was won by Ken Koch and the drawn prizes were: Skip – Keith Wild and Cora van der Westhuizen, lead – Debbie Nortje and William Richardson.

Thursday was the Remax casual fours breakfast and overall winners were Arnie Harper, Robbie Carr, Mike McFarland and Brian Hollis on 4+20. First session winners were Dawn Spack, Kurt Spack, Gwen Tait and Jo-Anne Jordaan on 2+10. Second session winners were Terry Micholson, Dave Carroll, Herbie Roux and Val McCaffrey on 2+4. Arnie Harper won the meat raffle with Kurt Spack and John Somerville swooping the R40 money board with Linda Hewer and John Somerville taking the dregs of R20 each. The drawn prizes went to skip – Rina Harper, 3rd – Eve Godbeer, 2nd – Bill Hewer and lead – Margaret Walters.

The main club meat draw on Friday night was won by Chantel van Dyk, Cobus Janse van Rensburg and Gary Peace. L Dupony was drawn for the club snowball but was not there so it is a carry over. The swindle winners were Andy and Sandra Cox, Keith and Merle Hughes (twice), Mark Barclay (twice), Mike McFarland (twice), Dennis Tarbotan and Dave Leuchars.
