Woodlands mixed pairs goes down to the wire

What a lovely turnout on Friday night for Colin Dawson's delicious food.

WHAT an exciting finish to the Woodlands Bowling Club mixed pairs played on Friday afternoon between Gloria Rice and Bill Hewer playing Rina Harper and Andy Cloete.

It was neck and neck the whole game but in the end Rina Harper and Andy Cloete were the victors on a score of 13-12.

On Saturday afternoon there was another exciting game in the start of the 2015 drawn pairs between Harold Dix and Alan Bower playing against Bill Hewer and Keith Nel, with Harold and Alan the winners on 17-16. Well done to all the teams.

On Wednesday, 4 March the club will host the Remax any pairs competition. To enter a team, call Linda Hewer on 082-724-6575 and on Thursday, 5 March is the Remax casual fours. To enter a team call Arthur Carlyle on 076-588-7377.

What a lovely turnout on Friday night for Colin Dawson’s delicious food. The veranda was full to capacity. Join the club again this Friday and have an evening off cooking dinner. E Peace was not at the club to grab the snowball money so it’s another carry over. The meat raffles were won by Arnier Harper, A Holder and Sandy Leuchars. The swindle winners were Peter and Bev Jenkens, AB, Sandy Leuchars, Dennis Tarboton twice, Maria Berry, Shirley Tomlinson, Ralph Mostert and Dave and Arlene Leuchars.

On Sunday, 8 March Kombat Community Fair will be held at Woodlands Sports Club, Secker Road, Woodlands from 10am to 3.30pm. There will be loads of stalls and activities for the children. Belinda Dolphin will sing and keep everyone entertained. Go along and support.
