WHAT a fantastic turnout Woodlands Bowling Club had on Wednesday for the Remax open pairs competition.
Thanks to Remax for sponsoring all the meat prizes and the drawn prizes of white ceramic mugs with chocolates inside.
The overall winners were: Ken Thomas and George Moore who also scored an eight shot. First session was won by Kurt and Dawn Spack and second session was won by Norman Moore and Dave McCann. The meat raffle went to Rex Meyer and Ronnie Jackson and Ellen Loots grabbed the R40 money board with Linda Hewer and Terry Micholson taking the dregs of R20 each. The drawn prizes went to: Skip Andy Cloete, lead William Richardson, skip Phil Pieterse and lead Rex Meyer.
On Thursday the casual fours breakfast was played with prizes and drawn prizes sponsored by Remax. The winners were Rina Harper, Norman Moore, John Yunnie and Andy Cloete on a 4+21. First session went to Arnie Harper, Bob Hayward, Arthur Carlyle and Robbie Carr on a 2+18 and second session went to Chris Klopper, Ken Thomas, Joe McNamara and Claude Newman on a 2+9. The meat draw was won by Chirs Klopper. The winners of the R40 were Kurt Spack and John Somerville and the R20 went to Ken Koch and Ellen Loots. The drawn prizes went to skip Terry Micholson, third Kurt Spack, second Gwen Tait and lead Val McCaffrey.
On Saturday the start of the 2015 men’s singles competition was played between Andy Cloete and David Lloyd, with Andy the victor on 22-7. Keith Nel played Alan Bower and beat him 21-5 and in the men’s nominated pairs, Bill Hewer and Dennis Holloway beat Harold Dix and John Campbell on 21-9.
On Friday night G Knox was not there to grab the snowball so it is another carry-over. The club meat draw winners were John Hardouin, AB and Shirley Tomlinson. Saturday’s swindle winners were: Dave and Arlene Leuchars, Trev Hubbard (three times), Keith and Merle Hughes, Kobus Janse van Vuuren, Mike McFarland and Ralph Mostert
