Bowlers through to last 16 in PN women’s novice singles

BLUFF Bowling Club’s Dawn Spack beat M de Kock in the Port Natal women’s novice singles at Durban Bowling Club, to join Patricia Buys who had a bye, in the last 16.
Well done and keep rolling girls. In the men’s section of the same tournament, Dave Lavis unfortunately had to pull out.
The only domestic match played on Saturday, 24 January was a semi-final of the mixed drawn fours.
Daphne Reinhardt, Spider Williams, Brian Osman and Dave Vincent were 10-4 down at tea, but railed to beat June Foster, Elize Stapelberg, Noel Morel and Harvey Simpkin 20-17 and now meet Dave le Roux, Bridget White, Ronel Morel and Allan Moor in the final.
The Warwick/Neveling twilight 2 bowl trips kicked off on Friday, 23 January and Dave Le Roux, Paul and Bridget White are top dogs after the first round and their progress will be keenly watched as they are vying for a hat-trick after winning the last two years.

The following Friday there will be a pub quiz in the evening starting at 7.20pm, where teams of three can test the depth of the grey matter. It is in the format of multiple choice so all the answers are there and if you don’t know the answer a wild guess could suffice.
