Alan, Andy emerge as Woodlands BC men’s pairs champs

On Friday night the meat draw was won by Buks Swanepoel, Abie Joubert and Karyn Wallace.

SATURDAY’S final of the Woodlands Bowling Club men’s pairs was played between Alan Bower and Andy Cloete against Ralph Mostert and John Campbell, with Alan and Andy coming through as the champions.

Well done guys.

On Sunday the Port Natal fours competition continued and the Woodlands women’s team comprising of Gloria Rice, Rina Harper, Linda Hewer and Lynn Carlyle had a bye in the morning. At 12.30pm Linda Hewer’s ‘taxi’ was filled to the brim with three of the women and Eleanor for support and off to Lahee Park they went to play in the quarter finals. It was a very intense and close game all the way but in the end the Woodlands team lost by three shots. A very enjoyable afternoon was had by all. Thanks to Bill Hewer, Arthur Carlyle and Norman Moore for their support.

Anyone who wishes to play bowls should consider Woodlands BC, where fees are nominal and a willing coach is available to help new members.

On Friday night the meat draw was won by Buks Swanepoel, Abie Joubert and Karyn Wallace. Leonie Venter was not there to grab the winnings for the snowball, so it’s another carryover. The 100 club was won by Stewart Douglas.

The swindle raffle was won by Brad Jenkins, Keith Hughes, Glen Morris, Dave Leuchars, Cobus Janse van Vuuren x2, Trevor du Plessis and Maria Berry. The lotto bonus ball went to Teresa Conlon.
