Noel and Glynis steal the show at Bluff BC

This coming Friday there is a carpet bowls competition so do go and support the evenings entertainment.

THE Lilah Nel any pairs competition was played at Bluff Bowling Club this past Sunday and Noel Morel and Glynis Macrory stole the show by winning both their games by 11 shots and in doing so, captured the R400 first prize on a winning score of 4+22.

Gary Moffat and Allen Ritchie finished three shots behind.

The first and second sessions were both won on the score of 2+15 by Gary Moffat and Allen Ritchie and Alex Fisher and Ken Thomas respectively. The whiskey draw was won by June Foster while the pork roast was won by Kurt Spack. The 50/50 board was won by Alex Fisher.

Last Friday, 8 August a bingo evening was held, which was quite successful with Jay Retief emerging with the highest payout of R300. This past Friday a social darts competition was held and Gary Moffat and Dudley Dorrofield sneaked home to take the honours, donating their winnings to the flower fund.

On Saturday there were five mixed nominated matches played and the results saw Clinton and Sarie Bisset defeat Dudley Dorrofield and June Foster, Ronel and Noel Morel beat Dawn and Kurt Spack, Robert Mhlongo. Glynis Macrory defeated Titch and Jean Fraser while Daphne Reinhardt and Harvey Simpkins beat Rob Davies and Patricia Buys and last but not least, Dave Le Roux and Jay Retief beat Paul White and Phyllis Maritz.

The club will be having a spring braai on Sunday afternoon, 31 August to welcome in the new season. There will postings for Sunday morning and the afternoon of the preceding Saturday so members are to check the notice board.

This Thursday morning, 21 August the Brian Osman any pairs takes place so if you haven’t entered as yet, give Allen Ritchie or Gary Moffat a call.
