Gear up for Woodlands BC casual chicken fun run

This Saturday, 23 August, Woodlands will have Cynthia McFarland’s memorial plaque gathering in the tabs room.

IT was a very quiet week at Woodlands Bowling Club.

On Saturday Brian Kimber, Andy Cloete and Alan Bower played against Norman Moore, Denis Holloway and David Lloyd in the trips, with Norman Moore and his team emerging as the victors with a score of 22-11.

On Saturday, 30 August the bowling section will hold a ‘casual chicken fun run’. Go and have some fun and enjoy a game of fun bowls. Give your name in by 1.30pm, as play is to start at 2pm in casual clothes with flat shoes. If you don’t have bowls, the club will supply.

This Saturday, 23 August, Woodlands will have Cynthia McFarland’s memorial plaque gathering in the tabs room. Tea, coffee and snacks will be supplied by the club and the bar will be open for those wanting something tastier. Cynthia was a well loved, respected and hard working committee member of the sports club.

On Sunday, 24 August the club hosts the ‘shirts and skirts’. To enter a team, call Rina Harper on 031-466-3820.

The meat draw on Friday night was won by Alan Swan, Ernie (Tom Hanks) Pieterse and Stan McNamara. J Kruger’s name came up for the snowball but as he wasn’t there, it is another carry over. The swindle was won by Keith Hughes, Harold Dix (twice), Rob de Wildt, Denis Tarboton, Paul Conlon (twice), and Luke West. The lotto was won by John Fergusson.
