Bob, Johan seal open pairs bowls win

Drawn prizes went to Denis Gerricke, Tony Hoggins, Kurt Spack and Dave Matthews.

THE week started off with Wednesday’s open pairs competition being played in very hot temperatures at Woodlands Bowling Club.

The overall winners on a 4 + 21 were Bob Hayward and Johan Nel.

The first and second sessions both had two teams with equal score, so they had to toss a coin for the winners. First session was won by Chris Pozyn and Ken Kock on a +10 and second session was won by Gwen Tait and Herbie Roux on a +12.

The R40 money board was won by Keith Wild and Bob Hayward got the scraps of R20. The meat raffle was won by Terry Micholson and the drawn prizes were Jumbo Nel, Sonia Moore, Keith Wild and Daphne Els. The club will be having its game in July as it doesn’t clash with the Dan Draper.

The casual fours competition was played in much cooler weather, with the winners being Ron Furnham, Aubrey Wardell, Buck Bottger and John Fergusson. The first session was won by Terry Micholson, Herbie Roux, Val McCaffrey and Luvuyo Ndava.

Second session went to Keith Wild, William Richardson, Johan Nel and David McCann. The roast pork went to Gwen Tait and the money board of R40 to Rob Philogene and R20 to Robbie Carr.

Drawn prizes were won by Denis Gerricke, Tony Hoggins, Kurt Spack and Dave Matthews. Woodlands Bowling Club thanks everyone for their continued support.
