DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club gets set for an active new year, with two hikes this weekend.
On Saturday, 11 January enjoy “Herbie’s Hike” to Roosfontein.
Call hike leader Werner on 084-206-7836. This hike takes in grasslands and ravine forest. Meet at Westville Prison entrance parking at 1.45pm. Enjoy drinks and get together at the Pavilion afterwards. A shorter hike will be about an hour and half.
This hike is graded easy and moderate.
On Sunday, 12 January, there is a hike to Berea Parks.

Park and meet at the main Botanic Gardens parking area, near the shop and interpretative centre at 8am for a relaxed walk through Greyville, Sutton and Mitchell and Jameson parks. Enjoy a picnic lunch afterwards at Botanic Gardens.
This moderate hike covers a distance of 13.5km.
