Unkept Montclair verges: Residents must do it for themselves

If as home owners we can just clean the pavement area and pick up litter in front of our residences, Woodlands and Montclair would be in a better state.

EDITOR – In response to Peter Smit’s letter regarding ‘Filthy Montlands state decried’ published in the Southlands Sun dated 25 January, we can all see that as residents of Montlands.

We have heard many cries about it and I have even taken it on myself to contact the department to ask them to do street sweeping because there’s litter everywhere and overgrown weeds.

I also think the ward councillor can help to resolve these issues. As they work closely with the municipality, they should be fighting for such service delivery for their communities. If as home owners we can just clean the pavement area and pick up litter in front of our residences, Woodlands and Montclair would be in a better state.
